On June 5th 1988, on board her yacht Blackmores First Lady, Kay Cottee fulfilled her childhood dream to become the first woman in history to sail solo, non-stop and unassisted around the world.
It was a journey that was to change her life in more ways than she could ever imagine.
Since that day in 1988 Kay has written a record breaking bestselling book, penned another book 10 years later, produced an international award winning film of her voyage, become an internationally renowned motivational speaker, an accomplished artist and a mother.

Kay started life-drawing in her teens before boat building and professional sailing consumed her life. For the past 27 years she has studied and devoted her time to painting vibrant art works revolving around the sea in oils, acrylics and pastels.
